Farial and Arash booked me for their August 30th nuptials, both the wedding and reception will be at the Hotel Sofitel. in Redwood City.
For their engagement session, Farial and Arash were looking for scenic rather than architectural settings.
We started in Golden Gate Park and ended with a view of the Golden Gate Bridge, from China Beach.
Golden Gate park was beautiful that day, I took them to a waterfall, one of my favorite little gems in the park.
Still in the park, we found some gorgeous light streaming through the trees.
We had fun with sunglasses and reflections.
No stranger to beach shoots, I still managed to get surprised by a wave and was soaked from head to toe! Arash was kind enough to run up to get a towel for me and my cameras!
Luckily, the Canons and I were still in working order, and we finished the session with some great sunset photos!
Farial and Arash’s engagement portrait guestbook can be viewed online here …be prepared to enter your email address.
Jennifer and Nimer contacted me with great urgency, about 2 weeks before their wedding.
In a bind after some complications with their original photo/videography team, the big day was fast approaching.
We scheduled a last minute engagement session for the couple on the Sunday before the wedding.
Careful planning gave us time to shoot in one location (the Palace of Fine Arts), give them a break for dinner (while I edited with great haste), and just enough time left to choose an image for enlargement to display at the wedding.
So many images came out great, that we had a difficult time narrowing it down to just one; Jennifer solved this by asking us to design and print their menus as well. We created a double-sided design to incorporate two additional images.
Here are some of our favorites, (look for the infra-red shots)
Jennifer and Nimer, it was a pleasure to be part of your engagement and your wedding, Thank You!
Sarah and I are lucky to share a good friend, Cheryl.
Cheryl has been known to model for me on occasion, does makeup for some of my clients (including Sarah on this shoot), and is a costumer for the opera (how cool is that!?!); I feel fortunate to have been referred between friends, and we all had a great time together.
For Sarah and Brandon’s engagement portraits, they were looking for images that showed off the beautiful city of San Francisco.
We started at Union Square.
Moving on to Coit tower, we found a perfect view of the city on a perfectly beautiful day.
An old pier along the Embarcadero was our last stop; these are some of my favorites, enjoy!
My associate photographer, Diana, got engaged this year…..guess who’s photographing the wedding?
As we are no strangers to engagement sessions, we decided to go beyond the normal San Francisco locales and have a little fun. Finding ourselves at the park between the (new) Academy of Sciences and the De Young Museum, we took some of my favorite images.
Taking our adventurous spirit towards BART, we caught a few great images at 16th & Mission before heading to the platforms below.
Diana and Eric will be getting married September 5th in Redding, Ca. Bri and I will be shooting for Diana’s special day, a great photographer and friend; it’s going to be a blast for all of us.
Leia and Arthur found me through a wedding I photographed last year and we hit it off.
I’m really looking forward to their Lake Tahoe wedding on September 12th at Edgewood Golf Course.
For their engagement session, we hopped in the car with Ozzy (their pug), for a daytrip to Lake Tahoe.
They had wanted a unique engagement session experience, I jumped at the opportunity to scout the venue in advance and we all hoped for a bit of snow on the ground.
We didn’t see much snow on the drive up, so we stopped at a beautiful spot just on the river.
Closer to Tahoe we did find some snow and had a bit of fun playing, throwing, and making angels in the powdery goodness before making our way to the Edgewood Golf Course. This venue is right on the beach, and the light was perfect. Even Otis had a good time in front of the camera as he posed for ‘family’ portraits. I can’t wait to go back for the wedding.
I met Deanna last year, when I photographed her brother’s wedding at Elliston Vineyards.>
Deanna and Tim’s wedding will be at Mission San Jose in Fremont on November 14th, with a reception to follow at Murrieta’s Well in Livermore. I’m really excited to be a part of their special day.
Their appreciation of the 1993 movie ‘So, I married an Axe Murderer‘ influenced our location choices for this shoot. Our first stop was Fog City Diner, a San Francisco favorite that became the backdrop for their ‘Save the Date’ cards.
Next, we stopped at the Palace of Fine Arts where a slight drizzle freshened the walkway with some beautiful reflections.
Merely damp at this point, we made our way to Baker Beach to catch the sunset. Although the sky had cleared and the threat of rain passed, Deanna and Tim soaked themselves playing in the surf.

Deanna and Tim are a really fun couple and it was such a pleasure to photograph their engagement session. We even stopped by one of their favorite pubs to warm up (and take just a few more shots) before heading home.
Congratulations you two!
